# Create pipeline

> Add an empty pipeline to a SQL project. Build the pipeline's steps in Prophecy afterwards. The new pipeline is a saved change on the branch; commit it to record it in the project's Git history.

The new pipeline is empty. Build its steps in Prophecy, then [commit the changes](https://docs.prophecy.ai/api-reference/projects/commit-changes.md) to record the pipeline in the project's Git history.
