Access to your account
DataGPT signs in with your Prophecy account through the consent page you approve when you connect DataGPT. It can access only the projects, fabrics, connections, and files available to your account, in the workspace you last selected in Prophecy. If your organization’s Claude or ChatGPT Owner added DataGPT for everyone, each member still signs in with their own Prophecy account. A shared connector never gives members the Owner’s access. DataGPT can’t access other websites or services on your behalf. It works only with your Prophecy account.Session length
Each access token lasts 30 minutes and renews automatically. If DataGPT goes unused for 30 days, its access expires and you need to reconnect. To end access immediately, ask the AI client to sign you out.How your data is handled
Prophecy calculates every number, table, and chart that DataGPT shows. The AI client is instructed not to calculate or chart your data itself, and not to download your files to read them. When you attach a data file, DataGPT uploads it to DataBox, and Prophecy reads it from there. Results appear in interactive views in the chat. These views may include sample rows from your data. Data previews are limited in size, and long results are trimmed. What DataGPT saves
- Attached files are saved in DataBox. See Files and DataBox in DataGPT.
- Projects are created when you make a request without naming a project.
- Changes to projects are saved to the project’s default development branch. They’re committed only when you publish the project from the chat.
- View results are saved in a hidden
.data-gptfolder in your personal DataBox folder.
Credentials
When you add a connection, you enter credentials in a form inside the chat. The form sends them directly to Prophecy. They’re never passed to the AI client.Confirmations
DataGPT asks you to confirm before it makes changes that are hard to undo, including:- Deleting projects, pipelines, analyses, or files.
- Creating, editing, or deleting project source files.
- Creating warehouse tables from Excel files.
- Publishing a project.
- Overwriting a file in DataBox when you move or copy a file.
